SUMMARY:Festival Thank You Trip
DESCRIPTION:A trip to Salopian Brewery bar for everyone who volunteered at the Shrewsbury Beer Festival in September 2023\, as a thank you for their hard work during the festival. Anyone that helped in any way is welcome to come along. There will be a free bar and we will order takeaway pizza for everyone. \n\n\n\nPlease make your own way to the the brewery\, which opens for us at 7pm. Most people will be travelling by public bus from Shrewsbury to Hadnall. The branch will then book taxis to get people back to Shrewsbury afterwards. SUMMARY:Branch Annual Dinner
DESCRIPTION:The branch’s Annual Dinner will be held again at the Prince Rupert Hotel in Shrewsbury on 9th February 2024. Please get there at 7pm as the meal will start at 7:30. All members and partners welcome. \n\n\n\nThe menu is below with the prices\, which are £32.95 for 2 courses and £37.95 for three. If people wish to come\, they need to let Helen Arkell know along with their meal choices\, either in person or by using her Pubs email address (pubs@saws.camra.org.uk). Payment will be needed up front\, but if that is an issue then please contact Helen. \n\n\n\nFor those that haven’t been to an Annual Dinner at the Prince Rupert before\, there is a bar at the hotel where people can order their own drinks. SUMMARY:Public Transport Group Trip to Sedgley and Wolverhampton
DESCRIPTION:Social trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Sedgley and Wolverhampton. This is the second of our ‘out of area’ PTG trips that we do in January and February each year. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nSuggested train is the 10:30 Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton. The anytime day return fare appears to be £12.30. On arrival at Wolverhampton we will make our way to the old tram stop in Bilston Street and get the No. 1 bus to Sedgley getting off at the Crown public house. \n\n\n\nA short walk takes us to the Beacon Hotel\, home of Sarah Hughes beers. The pub should have three of their beers on plus two guests. \n\n\n\nWhen we are ready to move on we will return to the centre of Sedgley and visit the Swan Inn. The pub re-opened in January and should have six beers on including Kinver. \n\n\n\nOnce again when we are ready to move on we’ll return to Wolverhampton. Depending on our arrival time\, we will try to visit the Duke of York\, Lych Gate Tavern and\, of course\, the Great Western. \n\n\n\nThe fast train back to Shrewsbury leaves at 41 minutes past the hour. \n\n\n\nFor more information about our Public Transport Group (PTG) trips\, please see the About Our Events page.

SUMMARY:Beer Bus Trip to Whitchurch
DESCRIPTION:Social and beer scoring trip by minibus from Shrewsbury to Whitchurch. Departing from Salopian Bar at 7pm. Note that Beer Bus participants have been invited to the soft opening of the Crafty Dragon on Friday night\, the new micro-pub on Mill Street run by Magic Dragon brewery. This is an invitation-only event before officially opening to the public on Saturday 24th.
