SUMMARY:Loughborough Trip
DESCRIPTION:Shrewsbury and West Shropshire CAMRA and friends trip to Loughborough ( loogabarooga) Saturday 6th December to sample town centre pubs. \n\n\n\nFollowing discussion at the AGM\, travel to and from Loughborough is recommended by rail from Shrewsbury\, OR Wem/ Whitchurch. The organiser\, Philip Hamson\, will be waiting in Loughborough at the railway station whichever route you take. \n\n\n\nSuggested train from Shrewsbury is the 08:59 to Birmingham New Street\, then B’ham New St to Leicester\, then finally Leicester to Loughborough arriving at 11:.26. Return by the same route leaves Loughborough at 17:32 or better\, 18:.30. \n\n\n\nSuggested train from Wem via Whitchurch is the 08:35 to Crewe. 50 minutes wait in the coffee shop/waiting room\, then Crewe to Derby\, Derby to Loughborough – arriving in Loughborough at 11:51. Philip will be waiting for you outside Loughborough Station. SUMMARY:Public Transport Group Trip to Ludlow
DESCRIPTION:Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Ludlow. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nThe final PTG trip of the year will be to Ludlow on Thursday 18th December. Ludlow is one of our most popular PTG destinations and we will have 16 pubs serving real ale to choose from in or near the town centre\, including two Good Beer Guide pubs. The Olde Bull Ring Tavern and the Compasses have also just re-opened\, but the George is still closed. \n\n\n\nTravel Information \n\n\n\nMost people travelling from Shrewsbury and beyond will be getting to Ludlow by train\, leaving a few minutes walk from Ludlow railway station to Ludlow Brewery\, which will be our first beer stop. The other option is by bus\, which takes 1 hr 15 mins and drops you off by the railway station. \n\n\n\nShrewsbury to Ludlow by Train:   From platform 4\, get the 10:47 which arrives in Ludlow at 11:17 \n\n\n\nShrewsbury to Ludlow by Bus:    From Stand N at Shrewsbury Bus Station\, take the Minsterley Motors 435 bus at 9:55 arriving in Ludlow adjacent to the railway station at 11:10 \n\n\n\nLudlow to Shrewsbury by Train:   Choice of either the 16:20 arriving in Shrewsbury at 16:54\, or the 16:52 arriving in Shrewsbury at 17:24\, or the 17:19 arriving in Shrewsbury at 17:46\, or the 17:43 arriving in Shrewsbury at 18:18 \n\n\n\nLudlow to Shrewsbury by Bus:    Minsterley Motors 435 bus from outside the Compasses pub on Corve Street either at 15:55 arriving in Shrewsbury bus station at 17:11\, or at 16:55 arriving in Shrewsbury at 18:11 \n\n\n\nPubs \n\n\n\nA general order of pubs is shown below. We will meet at Ludlow Brewery around 11:15am and stay there until around midday. As we have a large number of pubs on the list\, after the Brewery we usually split up into smaller groups to pick a subset of the pubs to visit. SUMMARY:Christmas Eve Shrewsbury Walkabout
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Christmas Eve Shrewsbury walkabout\, which gives everyone a chance to meet up for a few drinks before the Christmas break. Also handy for combining a bit of last minute Christmas shopping with some pubs! \n\n\n\nThis year\, we will be starting the walkabout at our Shrewsbury Pub of the Year\, the Prince of Wales on Bynner Street at 1pm. After that we will go to the Cross Foxes before heading into town. We are then likely to visit the Nag’s Head\, Cromwell’s\, Three Fishes\, Admiral Benbow and the newly-opened Coach and Horses.  \n\n\n\nIf you are short on time\, feel free to join us just for one or two pubs.
