SUMMARY:Public Transport Group Trip to Bishops Castle & Pontesbury
DESCRIPTION:Social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Bishops Castle & Pontesbury. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nThis month’s PTG trip will on Thursday 21st August to Bishops Castle and Pontesbury by bus. This is going to be a more relaxed trip than normal\, as we only have 2 pubs available to visit in Bishops Castle due to the Three Tuns being temporarily closed. However\, the two open pubs include the Castle Hotel which is a current GBG entry and has one of the best beer gardens in our branch area\, and the Six Bells which normally has a choice of 5 real ales. We will also be calling in at Pontesbury on the way back to visit the Plough and the Nag’s Head\, both decent pubs each with 3 ales on.  \n\n\n\nTravel Information \n\n\n\nWe will meet at Shrewsbury bus station at 10:00\, to get the Bishops Castle bus\, usually from Stand N. All buses are run by Minsterley Motors. \n\n\n\nShrewsbury to Bishops Castle:   10:05  553 bus from Stand N\, arriving at 11:05 \n\n\n\nBishops Castle to Pontesbury:   13:30  553 bus from opposite the Boar’s Head\, arriving at 14:03 \n\n\n\nPontesbury to Shrewsbury:   16:13  553 bus from outside the Nag’s Head\, arriving at 16:40 \n\n\n\nPubs \n\n\n\nBishops Castle: \n\n\n\nCastle Hotel   (opens at 11:00) \n\n\n\nSix Bells   (opens at 12:00) \n\n\n\nPontesbury: \n\n\n\nPlough   (opens at 2:00pm) \n\n\n\nNag’s Head   (opens at 12:00) \n\n\n\nHope to see you there! \n\n\n\nFor more information about our Public Transport Group (PTG) trips\, please see the About Our Events page.
