SUMMARY:Public Transport Group Trip to Oswestry
DESCRIPTION:Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Oswestry. Please note that this is a Friday trip. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nWe have up to 9 real ale pubs to visit in Oswestry\, including the Bailey Head (CAMRA’s National Pub of the Year 2024)\, two other Good Beer Guide pubs (Oak Inn and Bell Hotel)\, and the Griffin which has been voted our branch Pub of the Season for Spring 2026.  \n\n\n\nTRAVEL INFORMATION \n\n\n\nMeet at Shrewsbury bus station just after 10am\, to get the Arriva X5 bus to Oswestry (usually from Stand G).  \n\n\n\nShrewsbury to Oswestry: \n\n\n\n\n10:15 from Shrewsbury\, arriving at the Bear Hotel stop in Oswestry at 11:13\n\n\n\n\nOswestry to Shrewsbury: \n\n\n\n\n16:41 from opposite the Black Lion\, arriving at Shrewsbury bus station at 17:34\n\n\n\n17:26 from opposite the Black Lion\, arriving at Shrewsbury bus station at 18:19\n\n\n\n\nPUBS \n\n\n\nThe suggested order of pubs is shown below. First stop will be the Wetherspoons pub\, the Wilfred Owen\, where those that want to can grab a bite to eat before moving on.  \n\n\n\nWilfred Owen   (Wetherspoons)   – opens at 08:00 \n\n\n\nCoach House   (formerly Red Lion)   – opens 12:00 – 15:00 \n\n\n\nBailey Head   – opens at 12:00 \n\n\n\nGriffin   – opens at 11:30 \n\n\n\nFox   (Joules pub)   – opens at 10:30 \n\n\n\nWynnstay Hotel   – opens at 12:00 \n\n\n\nOak Inn   – opens at 12:00 \n\n\n\nBell   – opens at 14:00 \n\n\n\nBlack Lion   – opens at 16:00 \n\n\n\nIf this is your first PTG trip and you don’t know anyone else who is going\, please email the organiser and we will arrange to look out for you either at Shrewsbury bus station\, or at the far end. \n\n\n\nFor more information about our Public Transport Group (PTG) trips\, please see the About Our Events page.
