SUMMARY:Public Transport Group Trip to the Strettons
DESCRIPTION:Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to the Strettons. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nThis month’s PTG trip will on Thursday 17th September to the Strettons by bus.  \n\n\n\nThere are two Good Beer Guide pubs available to visit on this trip\, namely the Green Dragon in Little Stretton and the Yew Tree in All Stretton\, and an opportunity to check out the community-owned Fox at Little Ryton. \n\n\n\nWe will have 6 to 7 pubs to visit in Little Stretton and Church Stretton\, with the option then of choosing between the Yew Tree at All Stretton\, or the Fox at Little Ryton. Unfortunately due to the bus timetable\, people can do All Stretton or Little Ryton but not both. For those that choose to go to All Stretton\, there is the possibility of stopping off at the Horseshoes in Dorrington on the way back\, and then getting the last bus back to Shrewsbury. \n\n\n\nTravel Information \n\n\n\nWe will meet at Shrewsbury bus station around 10:45\, to get the 435 Minsterley Motors bus from Stand N. Note that all buses throughout the day will be the 435. We will have six pubs to visit this time as the Three Tuns in Bishop’s Castle is back open. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTravel Information \n\n\n\nWe will meet at Shrewsbury bus station at 10:00\, to get the 10:05 Bishop’s Castle bus\, usually from Stand N. DESCRIPTION:Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Whittington\, Welsh Frankton and Ellesmere. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nThis month’s PTG trip will on Thursday 16th July to Whittington\, Welsh Frankton and Ellesmere\, using buses to get around. For those that haven’t been before\, Whittington is a picturesque village near Oswestry with two pleasant pubs\, the Narrow Boat Inn near Welsh Frankton is in a superb position next to the canal\, and Ellesmere has an interesting range of pubs including a regular Good Beer Guide entry.  \n\n\n\nWe will be going to 2 pubs in Whittington\, 1 near Welsh Frankton\, and up to 7 pubs in Ellesmere. Due to bus timings\, we will get just under an hour in each of the first 3 pubs\, but then just over two hours to do as many Ellesmere pubs as we can fit in.  \n\n\n\nTravel Information \n\n\n\nWe will meet at Shrewsbury bus station just before 11:00\, to get the Oswestry bus\, usually from Stand G. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nLudlow is an excellent town for real ale and we will have 16 pubs to choose from in or near the town centre\, including two Good Beer Guide pubs.  \n\n\n\nTravel Information \n\n\n\nMost people travelling from Shrewsbury and beyond will be getting to Ludlow by train\, leaving a few minutes walk from Ludlow railway station to Ludlow Brewery\, which will be our first beer stop. DESCRIPTION:Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA festival working party\, organising the next Shrewsbury Beer Festival. The meeting will be held at the Prince of Wales in Shrewsbury. Members and non-members welcome. \n\n\n\nNote that this meeting was meant to be on Tuesday 6th January but was moved due to weather conditions. SUMMARY:Beer Bus Trip to Ludlow
DESCRIPTION:Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA social and beer scoring trip by minibus from Shrewsbury to Ludlow. Departing at 6:45pm from the bus stop layby on Smithfield Road\, just the other side of the Frankwell footbridge from the Salopian Bar. Members and non-members welcome. \n\n\n\nNote that this is an earlier start than normal\, as we are calling in to the Apple Tree at Onibury on the way to present them with their Rural Pub of The Year certificate. \n\n\n\nPlaces must be pre-booked with Pete Morgan Jones – he can be contacted using the email address below. \n\n\n\nFor more information about our Beer Bus trips\, please see the About Our Events page.
