SUMMARY:Public Transport Group Trip to Whittington\, Welsh Frankton and Ellesmere
DESCRIPTION:Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Whittington\, Welsh Frankton and Ellesmere. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nThis month’s PTG trip will on Thursday 16th July to Whittington\, Welsh Frankton and Ellesmere\, using buses to get around. For those that haven’t been before\, Whittington is a picturesque village near Oswestry with two pleasant pubs\, the Narrow Boat Inn near Welsh Frankton is in a superb position next to the canal\, and Ellesmere has an interesting range of pubs including a regular Good Beer Guide entry.  \n\n\n\nWe will be going to 2 pubs in Whittington\, 1 near Welsh Frankton\, and up to 7 pubs in Ellesmere. Due to bus timings\, we will get just under an hour in each of the first 3 pubs\, but then just over two hours to do as many Ellesmere pubs as we can fit in.  \n\n\n\nTravel Information \n\n\n\nWe will meet at Shrewsbury bus station just before 11:00\, to get the Oswestry bus\, usually from Stand G. For anyone who wants to stay an extra hour in Ellesmere\, there is a later bus back going the way we came – first to Whittington and then back from there to Shrewsbury. \n\n\n\nShrewsbury to Whittington (Three Trees stop):  Arriva X5 \n\n\n\n\n11:00 arriving at 11:43\n\n\n\n\nWhittington (Penybryn Avenue)to Narrowboat\, Welsh Frankton:  Lakeside 449  \n\n\n\n\n 13:42 arriving at 13:46\n\n\n\n\nNarrowboat\, Welsh Frankton to Ellesmere:  Lakeside 449  \n\n\n\n\n14:46 arriving at 14:53\n\n\n\n\nEllesmere (Cross Street) to Shrewsbury:  Lakeside 501 \n\n\n\n\n17:25 arriving at 18:04\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nOr for those wanting extra time in Ellesmere: \n\n\n\nEllesmere (Cross Street) to Whittington (Penybryn Avenue):  Lakeside 449  \n\n\n\n\n18:41 arriving at 18:52 (or request stop at Three Trees)\n\n\n\n\nWhittington (Three Trees) to Shrewsbury:  Arriva X5 \n\n\n\n\n19:12 arriving at 19:49 \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPubs \n\n\n\nA suggested order of pubs is shown below.
