Wolverhampton CAMRA Summer Festival of Beer & Cider returns for 2025! Featuring an awesome selection of real ales (cask) and cider + perry\, entertainment Friday evening and Saturday and (fingers crossed) the best of English summer weather! \n\n\n\nCard payments welcome throughout venue. Times 12 noon – 10pm daily subject to beer and cider availability. \n\n\n\nEntertainment information TBA very soon! \n\n\n\nEach day until 8pm we welcome families (under 18 year olds accompanied by an adult) and games inc. arts and crafts will be located in the marquee. Note – You do not need a ticket for children\, soft drinks will be on sale in the venue cafe. Children will not be allowed in the bar area but are most welcome in the marquee and cafe areas. \n\n\n\nCAMRA members receive one free half pint token on entry if they show their valid CAMRA membership card (up to 4.5 ABV beer or cider). DESCRIPTION:Social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Whittington\, Welsh Frankton and Ellesmere. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nFor those that haven’t been before\, Whittington is a picturesque village near Oswestry with two pleasant pubs\, the Narrow Boat Inn near Welsh Frankton is in a superb position next to the canal\, and Ellesmere has an interesting range of pubs including the White Hart\, a regular Good Beer Guide entry. The Black Lion has recently reopened in Ellesmere\, so that will be worth checking out too. \n\n\n\nWe will be going to 2 pubs in Whittington\, 1 near Welsh Frankton\, and up to 7 pubs in Ellesmere. Due to bus timings\, we will get just under an hour in each of the first 3 pubs\, but then just over two hours to do as many Ellesmere pubs as we can fit in. We may have to split up to cover them all.  \n\n\n\nTravel Information \n\n\n\nWe will meet at Shrewsbury bus station just before 11:00\, to get the Oswestry bus\, usually from Stand G. DESCRIPTION:The Cambrian Heritage Railway beer festival is back on Saturday 5th and Saturday 6th July 2025. Tickets for our 2025 beer festival are now on sale…. \n\n\n\nJoin us on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th July 2025 at our Oswestry Station… \n\n\n\nWe will have a fantastic selection on offer over the 2 days including from our very own neighbour @stonehousebeer \n\n\n\nEarly online booking sees the tickets at just £10 (£13 on the day) with the ticket including – Entry\, Day Rover Ticket & 1/2 pint \n\n\n\nThere will also be a mix of steam & diesel operated services between Oswestry & Weston Wharf for people to take their ale on the train and enjoy a relaxing train trip as they drink… the service will run into the evening on the Saturday… (The full timetable will be released nearer the time via our social media channels – first train will be at 1100 and last train will finish at 2045) \n\n\n\nDoors open at 1030 on both days with the bar closing at 2100 on Saturday and 1900 on Sunday (unless the beer runs out…) \n\n\n\nGet your tickets for the event from – https://cambrianrailways.com/beer-festival/

Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nThe Unicorn has just re-opened as a Black Country Ales pub\, so we will have a possible 17 pubs serving real ale to choose from in or near the town centre. \n\n\n\nTravel Information \n\n\n\nMost people travelling from Shrewsbury and beyond will be getting to Ludlow by train\, leaving a few minutes walk from Ludlow railway station to Ludlow Brewery\, which will be our first beer stop. The other option is by bus\, which takes 1 hr 15 mins and drops you off by the railway station. (Note: please double-check platform numbers and bus stands listed below when you get to the railway or bus station\, as these can sometimes change) \n\n\n\nShrewsbury to Ludlow by Train:   From platform 4\, get the 10:47 which arrives in Ludlow at 11:17 \n\n\n\nShrewsbury to Ludlow by Bus:    From Stand N at Shrewsbury Bus Station\, take the Minsterley Motors 435 bus at 9:55 arriving in Ludlow adjacent to the railway station at 11:10 \n\n\n\nLudlow to Shrewsbury by Train:   Either the 16:47 arriving in Shrewsbury at 17:17\, or the 17:17 arriving in Shrewsbury at 17:47\, or the 17:44 arriving in Shrewsbury at 18:11 \n\n\n\nLudlow to Shrewsbury by Bus:    Minsterley Motors 435 bus from outside the Compasses pub on Corve Street either at 15:55 arriving in Shrewsbury bus station at 17:11\, or at 16:55 arriving in Shrewsbury at 18:11 \n\n\n\nPubs \n\n\n\nA suggested general order of pubs is shown below.
