DESCRIPTION:Social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Bishops Castle and Pontesbury. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nOutward bus is the 10:05 from Stand N at Shrewsbury bus station. We will arrive at Salop Street Jcn\, Bishops Castle\, at 11:03. The Castle Hotel opens at 11:00\, then on to the Three Tuns and the Six Bells. \n\n\n\nWe will then get the 13:30 bus from opposite the Boar’s Head\, arriving at Pontesbury at 14:03. A short walk down Chapel Street brings us to the Plough which opens at 14:00\, from there we walk to the Nag’s Head. \n\n\n\nThe bus back to Shrewsbury will be the 16:15 from the stop outside the Nag’s Head arriving at Shrewsbury bus station at 16:40. \n\n\n\nIt is recommended to double-check the details on this page a day or so before the trip starts\, just in case any of the arrangements have changed. There we will be visiting the Narrowboat\, which is open from 12:00. \n\n\n\nDeparting Welsh Frankton at 14:46 by bus\, we will arrive at Ellesmere at 14:53. Pubs available to visit before 16:00 will be the Swan\, Red Lion and Market Hotel. DESCRIPTION:The Clun Valley beer festival is back for 2024 with five pubs along the valley taking part. A hop on hop off bus will be available on Sat 6th July to transport people between the pubs. Wristbands for the bus will be £10.00 each (£1.00 from each sale will be donated to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity) and available to buy from 4th July from any venue. \n\n\n\nThere will be two camping locations available. DESCRIPTION:Social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Ludlow. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nOutward train 10:40 from Shrewsbury arrives Ludlow 11:09. For those who prefer to use their bus pass\, the 09:55 435 gets to Ludlow railway station at 11:10. \n\n\n\nSuggested return trains for bus connections in Shrewsbury are 16:19\, which arrives in Shrewsbury at 16:49\, or 16:52 arrives 17:23. The 15:55 bus from outside the Compasses arrives in Shrewsbury at 17:11. \n\n\n\nFirst port of call will be the Railway Shed (Ludlow Brewery). SUMMARY:Beer Day Britain Shrewsbury Walkabout
DESCRIPTION:A Shrewsbury walkabout to celebrate Beer Day Britain\, starting at the Coach and Horses on Swan Hill at 3pm on Saturday 15th June. We will be in the Royal Oak\, Coton Hill in time to do the ‘Cheers to Beer’ at 7pm. Members and non-members welcome! \n\n\n\nThe route details are as follows: we will start at Coaches Horses at 3pm\, then The Admiral Benbow\, then the two Spoons\, The Kings Head and the The Salopian Bar & Garden. Figuring on half an hour per pub plus 5-10 minutes walking between town centre venues\, that should just give us time to get to The Royal Oak Shrewsbury in time to get a pint in hand for 7pm and the National Cheers To Beer. Updates to timing and the route will be posted on the Facebook page on the day. Those with additional capacity could do worse than a second pint there\, but will also be handily placed for The Woodman Inn and The Bird In Hand.
