The owners of the Baron of Beef in Bucknall have announced that they are closing the pub on the 30th July this year. It has been up for sale for around 12 months but no buyer has materialised. The effects of Brexit, Covid-19 and the cost-of-living crisis were given as reasons for the pub no longer being viable to run.

Planning permission has already been granted to split the overall property into smaller units. This includes the conversion of the pub into a house.
