Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA young members 'Beer Miles' pub trail around Shrewsbury. Starting in the Tap and Can at 1:30-2pm. Drink real ale in a selection of Shrewsbury’s excellent pubs and attempt to ‘travel’ as many miles as possible (calculated by working out the distance between the breweries of the beer you are drinking). Compete singularly or as part of a team. All welcome - you don't have to be a young member to join in! Please see the Young Persons page for more details
Come and join us for an afternoon of real ale and quizzing. Come and visit some of Shrewsbury's great pubs and have a go at some questions on the way. Questions will cover a variety of subjects as well as beef facts and even some to test your powers of observation! There's no pressure to get them all correct, just come along and have fun! We are starting at the Royal Oak in Coton Hill at 12:30. Jonathan at the Royal Oak has kindly said he'll ensure that there will be a good range of beers on from a porter/stout to pale ale, so it should be a good start to the day!
A trip by public transport to the Black Country to visit a selection of pubs in Lower and Upper Gornal, Sedgley and Wolverhampton. We are hoping to start at The Old Bulls Head in Lower Gornal at midday. The last pub of the day will probably be the Great Western in Wolverhampton. We are aiming to get the 10:05 train from Shrewsbury. If people could aim to be at the station for 9:45, then we have to time to organise tickets (there are group travel discounts available and we will need to see how many folks there are). Although organised as a Young Members’ event, all members and non-members are welcome on the trip.
