A three day beer festival at the Wheatsheaf in Frankwell, Shrewsbury, with beer, music, food & good vibes! The festival opens at 5pm Friday, and 12pm Saturday and Sunday. The Real Ale & Cider Bar will have 10 ales and a ruck of ciders to try all weekend long. Plus, the Tentsheaf bar will be serving cold pints, cocktails, wine, spirits & shots. Live music all weekend with Good to Go on the 25th, S4tw followed by Ego Friendly on the 26th, and The Ronaldo’s on the 27th, Also, amazing street food all weekend! The pub open as usual from 12–11:30pm daily. FREE entry on Saturday & Sunday until 2pm & just £3 on the door after 2pm.
Social and beer scoring trip by minibus from Shrewsbury to the Shropshire Hills. Departing from Salopian Bar at 7pm. Members and non-members welcome. Racked & Tapped Newport Beer Festival in a marquee at The Old Showground on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July 2025. There will be 22 cask ales on offer from a number of artisan and smaller breweries, plus 8 traditional ciders, 6 craft ales, plus a bar with gin, Pimms and Prosecco. A four day summer beer festival at Rad Beer in Shrewsbury from 31st July til the 3rd August. There will be 12 cask beers, 12 rotating keg beers, collab launches, food trucks, music plus 700+ bottles and cans on the shelves and cider, wine & cocktails. No ticket required, just turn up!
A three day beer festival at the Tiddly (royal Oak) in Ellerdine Heath from 1st to 3rd August. The weekend will include music, food and plenty of beer and cider!
The Great British Beer Festival is back after having a year off with hundreds of beers, and real ciders and perries. The venue will be the NEC in Birmingham, and the festival will run for 5 days from Tuesday 5th August 2025 to Saturday 9th August. For more information, please look at the festival website here. Social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Bishops Castle & Pontesbury. Members and non-members welcome! This month’s PTG trip will on Thursday 21st August to Bishops Castle and Pontesbury by bus. This is going to be a more relaxed trip than normal, as we only have 2 pubs available to visit in Bishops Castle due to the Three Tuns being temporarily closed. However, the two open pubs include the Castle Hotel which is a current GBG entry and has one of the best beer gardens in our branch area, and the Six Bells which normally has a choice of 5 real ales. We will also be calling in at Pontesbury on the way back to visit the Plough and the Nag’s Head, both decent pubs each with 3 ales on. Travel Information We will meet at Shrewsbury bus station at 10:00, to get the Bishops Castle bus, usually from Stand N. All buses are run by Minsterley Motors.
