  • Cambrian Heritage Railway Beer Festival

    Cambrian Heritage Railway Old Station Building, Oswald Road, Oswestry, Shropshire, United Kingdom

    The Cambrian Heritage Railway beer festival is back on Saturday 5th and Saturday 6th July 2025. Tickets for our 2025 beer festival are now on sale.... Join us on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th July 2025 at our Oswestry Station... We will have a fantastic selection on offer over the 2 days including from our very own neighbour @stonehousebeer Early online booking sees the tickets at just £10 (£13 on the day) with the ticket including - Entry, Day Rover Ticket & 1/2 pint There will also be a mix of steam & diesel operated services between Oswestry & Weston Wharf for people to take their ale on the train and enjoy a relaxing train trip as they drink... the service will run into the evening on the Saturday... (The full timetable will be released nearer the time via our social media channels - first train will be at 1100 and last train will finish at 2045) Doors open at 1030 on both days with the bar closing at 2100 on Saturday and 1900 on Sunday (unless the beer runs out...)   • Public Transport Group Trip to Whittington, Welsh Frankton, Ellesmere

    Trip starts at Shrewsbury Bus Station Raven Meadows, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, United Kingdom

    Social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Whittington, Welsh Frankton and Ellesmere. Members and non-members welcome! For those that haven’t been before, Whittington is a picturesque village near Oswestry with two pleasant pubs, the Narrow Boat Inn near Welsh Frankton is in a superb position next to the canal, and Ellesmere has an interesting range of pubs including the White Hart, a regular Good Beer Guide entry. The Black Lion has recently reopened in Ellesmere, so that will be worth checking out too. We will be going to 2 pubs in Whittington, 1 near Welsh Frankton, and up to 7 pubs in Ellesmere. Due to bus timings, we will get just under an hour in each of the first 3 pubs, but then just over two hours to do as many Ellesmere pubs as we can fit in. We may have to split up to cover them all.  Travel Information We will meet at Shrewsbury bus station just before 11:00, to get the Oswestry bus, usually from Stand G. Please note that the bus times have changed since last year, so we are setting off a bit earlier from Shrewsbury, and the bus back from Ellesmere is now slightly later.   • Wolverhampton CAMRA Beer Festival

    A three day beer festival organised by Wolverhampton CAMRA from 24th to 26th July. It’s an institution in Wolverhampton every summer.. Wolverhampton CAMRA Summer Festival of Beer & Cider returns for 2025! Featuring an awesome selection of real ales (cask) and cider + perry, entertainment Friday evening and Saturday and (fingers crossed) the best of English summer weather! Card payments welcome throughout venue. Times 12 noon - 10pm daily subject to beer and cider availability. Entertainment information TBA very soon! Each day until 8pm we welcome families (under 18 year olds accompanied by an adult) and games inc. arts and crafts will be located in the marquee. Note - You do not need a ticket for children, soft drinks will be on sale in the venue cafe. Children will not be allowed in the bar area but are most welcome in the marquee and cafe areas. CAMRA members receive one free half pint token on entry if they show their valid CAMRA membership card (up to 4.5 ABV beer or cider).   • Market Bosworth Rail Ale Festival

    Market Bosworth Station Station Road, Market Bosworth, United Kingdom

    This year’s Market Bosworth Rail Ale festival, held by the Battlefield Line and Hinckley & Bosworth CAMRA in the Goods Shed and marquee at Market Bosworth Railway Station. There will be entertainment outside each day, with steam traction engines (both full size and miniature) demonstrating the road transport of yesteryear.  Meanwhile, on the rails, there will be steam and diesel trains operating throughout the weekend. In the evening, why not enjoy your pint while listening to live entertainment, provided by Dr Busker (Fri & Sat nights only). FREE heritage bus service from Nuneaton, Hinckley, Barwell & Earl Shilton to Market Bosworth Station (Friday & Saturday only).  Parking also available nearby. 65+ beers, 25 ciders, wines, and a variety of food will be available throughout from the goods shed, from a Full English breakfast, to burgers, pies, pizza and much more.
