Note that the start time for the committee meetings held at the Prince of Wales will now be 7:15pm, to give people who are getting the train to Shrewsbury time to walk across town to the pub. Social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Oswestry. Note that the PTG trips for September, October and November have been changed round to accomodate a visit to the Stretton Ale House in Church Stretton which re-opens in October. This November trip is now on Friday 22nd instead of the Thursday. Outward travel is on the 10:30 X5 from Shrewsbury Bus Station, arriving at Oswestry at 11:27. According to What Pub the town centre now has only 10 cask beer outlets, 8 fewer than pre-pandemic days. The suggested route is as follows, which, with a few judicious halves, should enable a score for all the pubs. Wilfred Owen, Coach House – before they get busy with diners, Bailey Head, Plough, Griffin, Fox, Wynnstay Hotel, Oak Inn, Bell, Black Lion opens at 16:00 Buses back from outside the Black Lion are the 16:35 arriving in Shrewsbury at 17:33, or the 17:20 arriving in Shrewsbury at 18:15. Everyone is invited to the presentation of the national CAMRA Pub of the Year finalists certificate at the Bailey Head, Oswestry, at 1pm on Saturday 23rd November. The bar will feature three collaboration cask beers brewed between the Bailey Head and Riverhead (Ossett), Castle Rock and Stonehouse.

Dudley and South Staffordshire CAMRA's annual Winter beer festival at Dudley Town Hall from Thursday 28th until Saturday 30th November. It will have a selection of over seventy real ales and ciders. Opening times are: Thursday 1:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday 11:00am - 10:00pm, and Saturday 11:00am to 8:00pm. CAMRA members will be able to get in free by showing their membership card.
