Social and beer scoring trip by public transport from Shrewsbury to Bishops Castle & Pontesbury. Members and non-members welcome! This month’s PTG trip will on Thursday 21st August to Bishops Castle and Pontesbury by bus. This is going to be a more relaxed trip than normal, as we only have 2 pubs available to visit in Bishops Castle due to the Three Tuns being temporarily closed. However, the two open pubs include the Castle Hotel which is a current GBG entry and has one of the best beer gardens in our branch area, and the Six Bells which normally has a choice of 5 real ales. We will also be calling in at Pontesbury on the way back to visit the Plough and the Nag’s Head, both decent pubs each with 3 ales on.  Travel Information We will meet at Shrewsbury bus station at 10:00, to get the Bishops Castle bus, usually from Stand N. All buses are run by Minsterley Motors. Shrewsbury to Bishops Castle:   10:05  553 bus from Stand N, arriving at 11:05 Bishops Castle to Pontesbury:   13:30  553 bus from opposite the Boar’s Head, arriving at 14:03 Pontesbury to Shrewsbury:   16:13  553 bus from outside the Nag’s Head, arriving at 16:40 Pubs Bishops Castle: Castle Hotel   (opens at 11:00) Six Bells   (opens at 12:00) Pontesbury: Plough   (opens at 2:00pm) Nag’s Head   (opens at 12:00) Hope to see you there!
